Hunchly Chrome extension cannot connect to Dashboard

Sometimes, the extension can lose its connection with the dashboard and you will get an error like this:

The first step in this situation is to remove and reinstall the extension from your browser:

1. Click on the 3 buttons at the top right of the browser to open the options menu.
2. Choose Extensions and then Manage Extensions

3. Find Hunchly and click Remove

   

4. Go to the Chrome Web Store and reinstall the Hunchly extension: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/amfnegileeghgikpggcebehdepknalbf

5. Once the extension is reinstalled, check to make sure it is active and then see if you have cleared the error and can continue using Hunchly.

   
   

Advanced Troubleshooting:

Windows

Clean out old versions of Hunchly

1. Download and run the Hunchly Cleaner tool: www.hunch.ly/tools/hunchlycleaner.exe
   1. This tool is also included with Hunchly, you can find it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Hunchly 2\hunchlycleaner.exe
2. Open the start menu

3. Open "Add or remove programs"

   

4. Remove all Hunchly installations
5. Download and install the latest version of Hunchly from www.hunch.ly/downloads

Linux

Use non-snap installer for browser

The Linux snap installer creates containerized applications, which prevents Hunchly from communicating with the browser. Install your browser using a different installation method, such as downloading the .deb file and using dpkg.
